CORONA-UPDATE

OMG OMG… We’ve missed you, your hair and your face in the salon… In these extremely testing and uncertain times, one thing is for sure, we will be back bigger stronger and more creative than ever before, we can promise you that.

As you are most definitely aware, all nonessential retail businesses have now been forced to closed due to the Corona Virus outbreak, click here check out our announcement on social media.

With all the negative news going on in the word we thought we’d brighten up your day by sharing some good news with the 6S Team and what we’re doing to remain sane during the dreaded LOCKDOWN…

We, as a team are regularly in contact with each other and can confirm that we’re all still very much alive and helping each other where possible; be it online hair tutorials, dropping food packages or continuing with our team meetings every Thursday through Zoom video conferencing. Check out our first meeting from last Thursday:

Spirts are really high with the 6S team at the moment, we are happy to announce that we are keeping all our guys on board with no redundancies; we have successfully enrolled all of them on the government job retention scheme and been accepted for a business support grant which will help things tick in the coming weeks; however if you would like to continue to support the salon and help us hit the ground running when we open again, please pre-pay for your service by purchasing gift cards to use over a period of time as / when the salon opens. PRE-BOOKED APPOINTMENTS

With regards to Pre-booked appointments, we are working super hard to ensure that we are doing everything possible to open our doors as soon as we’re legally able too; however, we also appreciate that a lot of our clients have pre-booked appointments spanning over 12 months. Originally, we planned on reopening the salon on Monday 6th April, but as the pandemic starts to edge towards it’s the peak, this is looking less likely. Due to the uncertainty, we are not looking at rebooking any clients within the immediate future, but will, of course be contacting you all clients individually once we are able to start accepting bookings.  

Note – All future bookings will stand for now, if they are missed you will be contacted by our front of house team once we have clarification when we can reopen – rest assured the team will be working extra days and hours to combat your rootage.

COVID-19 SALON CLOSURE

 

**COVID-19 SIXTH SENSE SALON UPDATE**

It’s with great regret we wish to announce that as of 5pm on Saturday 21st March 2020 Sixth Sense Salon has decided to close its doors for a minimum of 2 weeks. Although we are fully booked with clients over the coming weeks, we feel it’s necessary and our duty of care to both our team and clients to ensure that we are doing everything possible to eliminate this virus…

Circumstances depending, we will reopen the salon on Monday 6th April, this is heavily dependant on WHO (World Health Organisation) guidelines and we will, of course, be keeping in contact with our clients through all means available to us (Social Media, SMS & Email).

As you can appreciate, this is an extremely difficult time for businesses all over the world; we will continue to support our team during these testing times and would like to offer our clients the opportunity to pre-purchase gift cards online which they can redeem over a period of time once the salon reopens – Gift cards are available to purchase from here: www.sixthsensesalon.co.uk/gift-cards

COVID-19 KEEPING CLIENTS AND TEAM SAFE

To All 6S Customers,

We wanted to update you on the steps Sixth Sense Salon are taking to help minimise the spread of COVID-19.

We are continuing to follow and monitor official guidance from the UK Government and Public Health England carefully. It is of vital importance for us to be in a position to ensure that any and all procedures are in place to support the health and well-being of our customers and staff members.

To help combat the spread of COVID-19, we have been putting precautionary safety measures in place, including:

  • Educating our staff on prevention
  • Emphasising frequent and proper hand washing
  • Cleaning high contact points more frequently
  • Disinfecting all salon tools and cutting stations after each client
  • Providing hand sanitiser and anti-bactirial tissues to all clients / staff
  • Ensuring any staff that are showing mild symptom are kept out of the salon
  • Working with local health authorities

From a business point of view, can we please advise clients that if you are experiencing any symptoms, even if they are mild, to contact the salon immediately and rearrange your appointment.

In line with government guidance, we are continuing to operate as usual. We will continue to keep in touch with you and follow official guidance from the UK Government and Public Health England carefully.

2020 Awesome Team Awards

On 6th & 7th January this year,  Directors Dean & Dean closed the salon for inspirational training focusing on customer service and advanced colour techniques.

On day one the team were treated to inspirational customer service training by internationally acclaimed trainer and close salon friend Julie Eldrett; during training the team were reminded of the core values of the Sixth Sense Salon mission statement “To Make Everybody Feel Like Somebody” along with advanced communication techniques to ensure that our clients feel totally at ease with our team.

Teenage Cancer Trust – 6S Charity of the Year

 

Every year The Sixth Sense Salon Team pick a charity that they will support for the year, last year they picked two – Lola’s Footsteps and Midlands Air Ambulance Charity where the team raised in excess of £4,000 combined.

This year the team have decided to pick the wonderful guys at The Teenage Cancer Trust who offer life changing support and care to you people suffering from Cancer.

The Sixth Sense Team will not only raise money, they will also offer complimentary products, services and ongoing support to people within the charity.

As well as running these events, the 6S Team will be undertaking a number of enduring challenges including Tough Mudder and gruelling Three Peaks Challenge to help raise money for this super inspirational charity.

Sixth Sense Salon, The Best Hair Salon in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham

6S Team Building Seminar 2019

While most salons across the UK opened the first weekend in January, Sixth Sense Directors Dean & Dean decided to take their whole team away to feed their minds with knowledge and their souls with quality time spent with each other; after all, a team that plays together stays together.

First stop was the Wella Studio in Manchester where we invited Hall of Fame and three-time winner of the British Hairdressing Colour Technician of the Year Robert Eaton of Russell Eaton Salons.

The day started with Robert explaining some of the unique techniques used to create the looks in some of his award-winning collections; he introduced the team to a host of new tools and textures that could be used, think bubble wrap and fine art paint brushes. As you can imagine, the team were creating Hobby Craft shopping lists throughout the whole presentation.

Following the presentation, Robert then went onto do a live demonstration using the new and beautiful Wella Opal-Essence Colours which will be exclusively available to 6S customers in the coming weeks. As you can see below, the colours were STUNNING and the team are really excited to start using them on our clients.

After a brief lunch break, we then split the team into three groups where they could use the knowledge they picked up in the morning to create beautiful hair for our three glamorous models Natalie, Mandy and Elle. Check out their work below…

When the day was finally done, the team posed for one last photo with the legend that is Robert Eaton, who also got caught up in a Dean Sandwich.

The coach collected the whole team to transport them deep into the countryside where The Dean’s hired out a Grand Hall based in Ashbourne. The setting couldn’t have been more perfect, a 15 bedded mansion with games room, it’s own bar and hot tub located in the heart of the Peak District; and conveniently close to a number of pubs where the team were spent most of the evening fine dining at The Green Man Pub before heading back to the hall for an early night in preparation for next day.

After a great night sleep, the whole team woke up refreshed and ready for the days antics; nothing to heavy was planned as The Deans really wanted to focus on the team working together, sharing their goals for 2019 and understanding more about each other.

The day kicked off with the Dean’s explaining about their 12 months aspirations for the Sixth Sense Salon, things they were changing and how they wanted to ensure that everyone was fully supported in their roles. Following this, they gave the floor to the team who had all created mood boards outlining their goals for the year. Check out some of their mood boards below.

Finally, it was time to celebrate what a FANTASTIC 2018 Sixth Sense Salon had by throwing a MASSIVE party where The Dean’s cooked the whole team a three-course meal. This was closely followed by themed house party where the whole team dressed as either their favourite Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera, as you can see from the video below, everyone had a great time and put in a lot of effort into their outfits…

We think it’s safe to say everyone had a fantastic time and it’s put the whole team in good stead to start 2019….

Dean & Dean’s motto is “Love your team and they will love your clients” which is why every year to celebrate the salons birthday they treat the team to an all expenses paid weekend away.

This year they decided to take them up North to surprisingly sunny Blackpool where the team ate great food, drank shots / partied hard, held each other’s hands as they screamed their way through roller coaster rides and laughed the night away watching the Funny Girls Cabaret Show.

More importantly, the weekend was about everyone coming together as a big family and enjoying each others company outside with the confines of the salon.

The Dean’s Commented “We all look forward to this weekend away every year, it’s a massive thank from us to show that every single team member is appreciated.”

If we could take all our clients with us we would, but we’ve done the next best thing, we’ve bought the whole weekend to our clients with this awesome video above and the images below highlighting the whole weekends’ antics…
