Breast Friends Women Strut The Catwalk to a Standing Ovation

There were more surprises in the second half when the crowd was brought to tears hearing the inspirational stories of a group of women who have been battling breast cancer.

During a video broadcast, six women talked about how the charity Breast Friends and Sixth Sense Salon have supported them during difficult times.

As the sound system blasted out Alicia Keys’ hit song ‘This Girl Is On Fire’ and flames roared into the air, the magnificent six appeared on the catwalk and literally strutted their stuff, revealing their gorgeous new hair cuts and showing that they will not be beaten.  With barely a dry eye in the room, the audience rose to their feet to clap and cheer.

Salon Owner Dean Vinning Has Head Shaved On Stage for Charity

Sixth Sense Salon owners Dean Vinning and Dean Robertson shared the stage as they talked about their own journey towards owning a successful, award-winning salon in the heart of Sutton Coldfield.

The duo talked about their mission to try and change lives.  Dean Vinning said: “Over the past 12 months I have had the privilege to meet the most amazing women who have shared their stories with me.  They have helped me to understand what they’ve been through.”

Most of the audience were already familiar with Julie Emery through her video diary which shares her journey to grow back healthy hair with the help of Sixth Sense Salon and NIOXIN hair thickening products.  The salon’s work with Julie helped spearhead a national campaign with Wella Professionals’ NIOXIN to raise funds for cancer research.

Julie summed up the feelings of the Breast Friends group as she told the audience: “In my darkest days I found Breast Friends and Sixth Sense.”  She then joked that it was now time to turn the tables on Dean Vinning.  Brandishing hair clippers, she promptly shaved Dean’s hair in a bid to raise money for Breast Friends!

The event is likely to raise thousands of pounds, with all proceeds going to the Breast Friends charity.

Sixth Sense’s partnership with the Wella Professionals NIOXIN team was also evident on the night, with NIOXIN Ambassador Kay McIntyre and the Wella Professionals team offering NIOXIN consultations and prescribing complimentary NIOXIN product packs for guests.
