There are colour technicians and then there are Wella Master Colour Experts; the hair industry’s colour elite who have studied hard, aced exams and performed incredible feats with their weapon of choice (a tint brush /bowl), to be awarded their MCE (Master Colour Expert) title by the Wella Education Royalty.
Each MCE has undergone an intensive 12-month program, cast out of the salon to The Wella World Studio in London where they have been entrusted with the closely guarded colour secrets from the inner circle of the UK’s leading and most inspirational hair colour artists including: Robert Eaton (3x Colour Technician of the year winner at British Hairdressing awards), Jason Gray (Wella Global Creative Artist), Clayde Baumann (Wella Global Creative Artist) to name a few.
Very few stylists have the opportunity to undertake the course due to time, ability and financial restrictions, but that hasn’t stopped 3 of our senior stylists taking up the challenge and leaving the course victorious, qualification in hand. In fact, Sixth Sense is the only salon in the West Midlands with 3 MCEs, making us one of the leading salons for colour in our region.
Each of the salon’s MCEs act as a fountain of colour knowledge, supporting the whole 6S team ensuring that every colour that leaves the salon is flawless; it’s like a big brother/sister relationship without the fighting. The whole team are encouraged to make a colour decision together, so you will regularly see them asking other team members for advice; even the great high colour priest himself Dean V will ask the opinion of his peers of different levels on a frequent basis.
The AWESOMENESS doesn’t just stay in the salon, ALL of our MCEs have been either been shortlisted or made it to the finals of the prestigious Wella Trend Vision Award, competing against some of the best hairdressers in the UK, with our Salon Director attending the Grand Final back in 2010.
